Mr T contacted us his boiler had broken down again, he wanted us to provide a quotation for a new one.

We carried out a survey and discussed the options available. He decided on a Worcester Greenstar 18RI heat only boiler which was more than adequate for the heating and hot water demands. This was to be a direct swap with his existing boiler in the kitchen.

Some of the pipework in the airing cupboard had to be altered to suit the new boiler, we also fitted a Greenstar system filter to protect the boiler. All the other controls were left the same, the system was powerflushed and an inhibitor was put into the system to condition and protect the water. All in all, the work took about a day to complete.

Mr T will now get an 8 years manufacturer backed guarantee from Worcester and piece of mind his boiler will be good for years.

What is a Powerflush

Powerflushing is a method of cleaning your central heating system. The pump on the machine pushes water at high velocity throughout the pipework and boiler, to loosen and remove sludge build-up. A thorough powerflush will improve heat distribution throughout your property. And could reduce your energy bills.

If sludge and debris is not removed from heating systems, it can accumulate in radiators, pipework and heat exchangers, causing severe blockages. In some cases this could eventually lead the boiler to fail.

How long does a Powerflush take

It will vary from house to house, but generally about 5-6 hours 3 bed house.
